What do you mean by a turnkey / flat fee program?
We understand the hassle of having to deal with multiple vendors, so we’ve made the process very simple and “Turnkey”. When you work with Mudlick Mail, we coordinate the artwork, carrier route selections, print, labeling, postage and trucking for all your direct mail. You deal with only one company - making the process incredibly easy and simple to get started. Our “Flat Fee” program offers one set cost per piece for your direct mail, unlike other companies that offer a price, and then add artist fees, list fees or set-up charges. At Mudlick Mail, we make it simple to price out. We offer a flat cost per piece, so you can easily figure out the cost of your mailing right from the beginning.

How does the graphic service work? Do I get to make changes to my ad?
We take pride in offering exceptional customer service. When you work with Mudlick Mail, you will work directly with the artist who is designing your ad piece. We understand the challenge of trying to run a business, so our artist’s will be available throughout the week to make any necessary changes at a time that is convenient for you. We will help you gather the items needed to complete your proof and guide you through the proof approval process.

How much does it cost, and how do I pay?
All of our customers are given a flat fee cost per piece, right from the start. There are no hidden charges or set-up fees, just upfront pricing and great customer service. We require proof approval, mailing approval and credit card processing approval via e-mail each month, so our customers retain complete control of the process.

What is the “Free Market Analysis”? How does it work?
The “Free Marketing Analysis” is the demographic report and map of your market area that we create and forward to you at no cost. The demo report and map gives us a bird’s eye view of your market and illustrates the type of households that surround your store. The demo report will list the carrier routes, city, households count, median income, median home value, median age and distance from your store (median = 50% above / 50% below indicated number). These variables are used to help us determine the best households to mail to. The goal is to target middle to high-income households within a 2-3 mile radius of your store (5-7 mile radius or more for rural areas). The demo map will show your store plotted on a map and the various highways, streets, landmarks and carrier routes surrounding your store area. The demo report and map together will help us guide you through the selection process for finding your best customers.

Do I have to sign a contract or pay a fee to be in this program?
At Mudlick Mail, we do not require a contract or fee to be involved in our program. We offer our clients the flexibility to participate in our direct mail program on a monthly basis.

How do you pick the areas to mail for my program?
You and our marketing team will review your demographic report and map of your store area(s). Together, we will determine the strongest carrier routes closest to your store that should be included in your mailing profile. We focus on middle / high-income areas within 2-3 miles of your store (5-7 mile radius or more for rural areas). We mail the same carrier routes each month to ensure we are touching both existing customers and new customers on a regular basis.

How do I get started?
Getting started with Mudlick Mail is fast and simple. Once you schedule your first mailing, you will be contacted directly by our artist who will walk you through the proofing process. We issue a “new client art checklist” to each new client, so they can start pulling together the items needed to create your ad. You will also spend 30-45 minutes with our marketing team reviewing your demographic report & map to determine what specific areas would be the best to mail. Also, our marketing team will help you integrate this direct mail program into both your marketing plan and your budget.

Are you a training and/or consulting company?
We are not a training company and we do not offer consulting to our clients. We do, however, see the value in helping our clients be more productive and profitable. We focus on helping our clients effectively sell the direct mail coupon to increase repair order tickets, run a more efficient store, maximize their entire marketing program and offer profitable ideas to help them grow their business.

How many pieces do I have to mail?
At the beginning of your direct mail program most of our clients will start mailing anywhere between 5,000 and 10,000 pieces per month. The initial amount to be mailed is based on the client’s marketing budget and staffing situation. Clients are encouraged to reallocate current marketing dollars to cover the costs of their new direct mail program if possible. Direct mail can be a highly effective marketing vehicle over time, so our clients are encouraged to focus on getting their program started as soon as possible.

How many additional customers can I expect to have as a result of my direct mail?
As with any new marketing vehicle, the response your store gets will be based on  how many households you are mailing to, what your competitive situation is, how long have you been in your market area, what type of previous advertising have you done, and how effective your staff is in closing opportunities. For every month that you send a direct mail piece, your response will grow exponentially both from customers who have received your ad as well as from customers that were referred to you. The success of each month should be judged on what your sales totals were from the same month of the previous year..
