We feel that our business philosophy is as unique and meaningful as our name. You may need to understand the background of the name in order to relate to this statement.
Several years ago, our company founder & CEO, Greg Sands, purchased a 55 acre ranch in North Georgia looking for a “retreat” from the busy everyday living in Atlanta, GA where he, his wife, and daughters reside. The ranch has a very special meaning in the Sands’ lives, and has had a significant impact on Greg’s business philosophy.
Greg and his wife grew up in rural Oklahoma from simple beginnings, and when it was time to officially name the ranch, Greg had a name that had stuck in his mind from his Oklahoma teenage days of watching a WWF pro-wrestler hailing from a town named Mudlick. That was the name, “Mudlick”. Greg knew that if the name could stick with him for more than 20 years that it must be a name anyone could remember!
Along with the unique name came a unique logo. One special event changed the life of a horse, a Dad, a daughter, and a company.
Mr. Sands promised his youngest daughter Savannah that she could buy a horse of her choosing. Savannah went looking for a horse, with the intention of picking a fine mount for herself. There were several strong and healthy horses to choose from, but the only horse that Savannah was drawn to was a small, sickly horse named Titan, that nobody seemed to want. As a man of his word, Mr. Sands purchased the horse and returned to the ranch with some skepticism.
When the horse arrived he was in bad shape, but with daily medical attention and tender loving care, Titan survived and is now a strong healthy horse. Upon choosing the logo for the ranch, a portrayal of Savannah and her determined horse Titan, the Sands family felt it was a perfect fit.
In Sands’ own pursuit for a more cost effective and efficient method to accomplish his internal direct mail marketing program for the auto repair stores he owns around the country, he utilized company talent, Tim Ross (current Mudlick Mail President) to search for a program that would keep his costs down and improve his delivery execution.
Within a few short weeks it became apparent that there was an obvious need for a simplified direct mail program that was cost effective, and a proven success for other shop owners, like Sands, to plug into. With Tim Ross’s background in advertising expertise, and the shop owning forte of Sands, Mudlick Mail was born. Mr. Sands named the direct mail company after his Mudlick Ranch because he wanted this company to represent the same philosophies of the ranch.
The logo for the ranch that represented a desire to help a horse and prove that anything is possibly with hard work and focus, came the obvious choice as our logo for Mudlick Mail. This reflects the philosophy to help other business owners that are in need of expert advertising advice and execution, and to provide the service and support to help their own business grow and survive.
Mudlick Mail Company currently works with hundreds of shops around the country, specializing in providing targeted direct mail to the auto service and repair industry.
Mudlick Mail created a simple to implement, flat fee / turn-key program that offers their clients a cost effective and measurable marketing vehicle to reach their best customers.
